चन्द्रसेन विराट ने कवि दुष्यन्त कुमार के बाद हिन्दी गजलों को एक नया स्वरूप प्रदान किया, जिसे ”मुक्तिका की स्वतन्त्र संज्ञा” दी जा सकती है । अपनी ‘मुक्तिका के माध्यम से उन्होंने कथ्य और शैली के नये प्रयोगों को हिन्दी भाषा के सांचे में अच्छी तरह ढालने का कार्य किया । कवि का अपना परिवेश है ।
